These photos are appropriations of Thomas Ruff’s work ‘Portraits’. There are four pieces selected from the original series are represented as new photographs in a smaller size. Compare with the iconic deadpan face, they now have more facial expressions that seem angry or upset. If looking at them closely, it could be found that these photos are folded and rephotographed angularly.
