Homes in the Room

2021

During the pandemic in 2020, some of my friends left London and kept their belongings in my flat. These things didn't belong to me but were privately owned by me temporarily. Most of them were redundant and useless. Because of the loss of functionality, they turned into something like sculptures and created a new connection to my living space. And then, the flat became a container for preservation and a field to display.

However, all of these are unstable. Objects and space share the same fate - forever recurring between being owned and recycling. Even so, the possession process changed the objects' appearances and shaped the spaces' forms. A brief and occasional gathering can be seen as the construction itself, a monument against time. For the dwellers, perhaps, the poetry of dwelling could be found even in the fluid sense of belonging and memories.
